Spring Training Miscellany: Cubs Beat the Dodgers Again ...Middle East

Are the Dodgers even good? More and more people are wondering.

The Cubs beat the Dodgers again today, this time 7-3 at Sloan. Some of the regulars got into the action today, with Jordan Wicks throwing a couple scoreless innings at the start. It’s harder to comment on some of the pitching today without velocity readings, but we did see some nasty moments from Phil Bickford (non-roster invitee) and Caleb Kilian (sprinkled around a lot of hits, though).

It was nice to see old friend Brandon Hughes back out there and looking healthy. It’d be a huge boost if he could emerge as real lefty depth for the bullpen.

Shota Imanaga threw a two-inning sim game this afternoon, throwing 39 pitches. He struck out five of the 10 batters he faced, walked one (Justin Turner) and allowed two hits including a homer.Imanaga said afterwards he’s at the point in camp where he just needs to make smaller, finer adjustments.
