The crown jewel of the Disneyland resort’s three hotels will be going under the knife this year for an extensive renovation that will refresh every room, renovate an award-winning restaurant and add an exclusive lounge for high rollers.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will refresh all 1,019 rooms with new carpeting, upholstery, bedding, decor and artwork. The hotel’s Disney Vacation Club Villas will also get an update.
Disneyland will take a phased approach to updating the Grand Californian with the hotel remaining open throughout the work that is expected to cause minor operational impacts.

The 5-star hotel’s Arts & Crafts motif will be maintained with California wildflower accents and new artwork in each room commissioned from local Impressionist plein air painters.
The hotel decor was inspired by Arts & Crafts movement pioneers Frank Lloyd Wright, Gustav Stickley and Greene & Greene — especially the six-story lobby that pays tribute to national park lodges in Yosemite and Yellowstone.

Disneyland spent $22.9 million to remodel the Grand Californian in 2017 with spruced-up rooms and a refreshed lobby, pool and club level — the first major renovation since the hotel opened in 2001.

The 2017 renovation introduced hand-designed forested wallpaper, Arts & Crafts ceramics and repeating Redwood forest and California poppy design elements.
Disney’s Grand will set you back nearly a grand with nightly room rates ranging from $475 to $980, according to Touring Plans.
