(KRON) -- The family of homicide victim Alexis Gabe released surveillance video on Friday that allegedly shows her killer attempting to cover up his crime.
Gabe's ex-boyfriend, Marshall Curtis Jones, was charged with murdering the 24-year-old Oakley woman inside his Antioch home on Jan. 26, 2022. Two days after Gabe was slain, Jones went to his mother's house in Antioch, police said. He later fled to Washington, and before officers could take Jones into custody, he was killed in a clash with police.
On Thursday, Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton said she does not have enough evidence to prosecute Jones' mother for any crime, including accessory after the fact.

Gabe's family described Becton's decision as "extremely" disappointing. "We just concluded a conversation with DA Diana Becton and Deputy DA Simon O’Connell. Despite having a substantial amount of evidence, they still declined to pursue charges," the family wrote in a statement.
Alexis Gabe's father, Gwyn Gabe, gave KRON4 a copy of surveillance video showing Jones unloading large black garbage bags from Jones' vehicle on Jan. 28, 2022. Gwyn Gabe said the video was recorded at Jones' mother's house.

A timeline compiled by homicide detectives revealed Jones’ activities and whereabouts the night of Gabe’s disappearance, the days after her death, and the months leading up to Jones’ death.
According to the timeline from police, on the afternoon of January 28, 2022, Jones arrived at his mother’s house, backed his Ford Explorer into the driveway, and unloaded several heavy garbage bags into the backyard or garage. Gwyn Gabe said the surveillance video shows this moment.

That night he drove north, powered both of his phones off, and brought hand-written directions to a remote area in Amador County with him, police said.
Jones' phones did not turn on again until 12:43 a.m. January 29, 2022, just before he returned to his mother's house, the timeline shows. In June of 2022, Jones was fatally shot by police in Kent, Washington. Five months later, a resident in Amador County found Alexis Gabe's partial remains in a wooded area.

The week the DA's office revealed that investigators lost one of the garbage bags that was found with the victim's remains inside by a search and rescue team in Amador County. A second bag was tested, but it did not have any identifiable DNA on it. The lost bag could not be tested for DNA to determine who had carried it, the DA's office said.
Becton said, "Our office has worked tirelessly over the past three years to pursue every lead."
KRON4 asked the district attorney: Did Coleman-Clark know what was in the garbage bags when they were at her house? The DA's office declined to comment.
