(KRON) -- Three people were killed in a crash in Gilroy on Wednesday evening, California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at about 6:55 p.m. on Shore Road. A driver traveling westbound lost control and veered into oncoming traffic west of Lake Road.
It struck a car traveling eastbound, killing the driver and two passengers. The driver and passenger of the vehicle that lost control, along with one other passenger in the other vehicle, were hospitalized. All three are suspected to have serious injuries.
One of the passengers who died was 17 years old. Ages of the other victims have not been released.
It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call CHP at (408) 427-0700.
