Following a season-opening loss on the road to the Tacoma Stars, the San Diego Sockers have reeled off four consecutive wins, including a 6-4 win over the Chihuahua Savage.
This one was all Sockers, as they scored two goals within the first two minutes of the game. Tavoy Morgan got the scoring started, followed by Gabriel Costa.
The Savage would add a goal in the first period, only to be outdone in the second, where the Sockers scored three more goals to the Savage’s one. A 5-2 lead after two periods was more than enough to hold on for the win.
Although the Savage had three more total shots on goal than the Sockers, San Diego made their opportunities count more often. San Diego also finished with nine total blocks.
Up next for San Diego is a return to Tacoma to face off against the Stars again on Friday. The game will start at 7 p.m. PST.
