KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- One person is injured after an officer-involved shooting during a traffic stop, according to the Kannapolis Police Department.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, officers conducted a traffic stop near the Shoe Show store at 251 North Cannon Blvd. Officials say they believed one of the occupants was wanted for outstanding warrants.

It's unclear who shot first, but police say an occupant inside the vehicle was injured by gunfire and taken to a local hospital. The officers and other occupants were not injured.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave and the NCSBI has been requested to investigate the shooting, both of which are standard procedures.
