Police are searching for an “armed and dangerous” man they suspect of fatally shooting a man outside a Franklin County shopping mall two weeks ago.
Chambersburg police are looking for the public’s help in locating Joshua Martin Bresnick, their suspect in the Dec. 18 shooting outside the Southgate Shopping Center.
Bresnick, 32, is accused of fatally shooting 20-year-old Rakeem Floyd at around 6:45 p.m. in front of a Family Dollar.
Police had previously reported they were dispatched to the mall at 6:44 p.m. that evening for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, police found a dead man lying on the roadway in front of the mall, in the area of the Family Dollar store.
Witnesses told officers that a fight occurred before shots were fired, police said. The department said then that they were looking for the driver of a light-colored van that they believed was connected to the shooting.
As for the victim, according to his obituary, Rakeem Iaymir Floyd had a 1-year-old son and, with interests in both making music and clothing design, was interested in finding a way that he could be his own boss.
