Pedestrians attending a holiday festival in San Jose, California, witnessed a frightening scene when a driver barreled through the middle of displays on December 29.
Footage filmed by Alex Sanchez shows the BMW driving through stalls at Christmas in the Park in downtown San Jose’s Plaza de Cesar Chavez as people shout and look on in shock.
Sanchez told Storyful that the driver was fleeing from police.
“He first tried driving against traffic on a one-way,” Sanchez said. “Since there were cars, he couldn’t go, so he saw the opportunity to drive through the park where people were walking.”
No injuries were reported, according to local media.
