Children and their parents had a chance to meet Santa Claus at the annual Santa Fly-In at Van Nuys Airport on Saturday, Dec. 14. The families got to see airplanes up close, had a lot of fun decorating airplane ornaments, used the “print-out” photo booths, and yes, had story time with Santa.
Santa Claus waved to the children as he arrived and they were thrilled when he read the cherished poem “Twas the night before Christmas” and posed for photos with the kids. Santa also showed up at LAX. More than 1,200 people attended the two events that helped to collect toys for children in need, according to officials.
“We’re so grateful for the overwhelming support from our community, sponsors and volunteers to make this year’s Santa Fly-In a heartwarming success,” said Jacob Haik, manager of the Van Nuys Airport. “Every toy donated today goes to a child in need and helps us make a difference this holiday season.”
