Prep school pool suspected after multiple cases from parasite confirmed: MCPH

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - Multiple cases from a parasite that is believed to have originated from a Charlotte prep school pool have been confirmed, Mecklenburg County Public Health (MCPH) confirmed with Robin Kanady and Queen City News this week. "The timeline for exposure is unclear at this moment, and we are not certain whether these infections were acquired prior to the first pool closure," public health officials said. "Staff are returning to Charlotte Latin again [Tuesday] morning and the pool was voluntarily closed to disinfect for a second time." Officials said that swim team members may swim at different pools and competition sites during the winter competition schedule. "
