Dallas police seeking Chiefs WR Rashee Rice in connection with major accident

The outlet reported that a vehicle, which is believed to be registered or leased to Rice, was involved in a crash around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Dallas police spokeswoman Kristin Lowman told The Dallas Morning News that the preliminary investigation determined a driver in a Chevrolet Corvette and a driver in a Lamborghini were speeding in the far left lane and both lost control of their vehicles. Two drivers were treated at the crash site for minor injures and two other people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, while police are still working to identify the suspects.

The Dallas Police Department is currently seeking Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in connection with a major accident that occurred last night. According to reports, Rice was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident that left several people injured.

This news has shocked the community as Rice has always been seen as a role model both on and off the field. His involvement in such a serious incident has left many fans and teammates questioning his character.

According to police, Dallas Fire Rescue teams treated two drivers at the scene for minor injuries and transported two occupants from another of the involved vehicles to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Attorney Marc Lenahan told WFAA he represents one victim who remained hospitalized Sunday night.

"They were just headed down the highway to meet friends for dinner, like we all do," Lenahan said. "Two vehicles were going way too fast on a highway at 6:30 at night, filled with families and everybody else trying to get home, get to meals, or be with loved ones. These people thought they were too cool for all that."

Sources said police believe one of the speeding vehicles was registered in Rice's name. Sources also said that police believe the Lamborghini and Corvette were street racing at the time of the accident.

Rice was born in Philadelphia, but is from North Richland Hills, a suburb west of Dallas. Rice played football at Richland High School and then played collegiately at Southern Methodist University, which is located about a mile from the site of the car crash.

Rice was a rookie in 2023 for Kansas City and caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns, and became an important offensive piece as the Chiefs went on their run to a Super Bowl victory. Rice's regular season totals for receptions and yards ranked second on the team, behind only tight end Travis Kelce, and his receiving touchdown total led the team.
