A Chapel Hill road is closed for part of Friday after a tree fell and scattered branches across the area. The Chapel Hill Police Department shared an alert shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Friday saying a tree was blocking part of Umstead Road near Bradley Road, leading the town to close the road until the debris is cleared. According to a photo from police, the tree uprooted from the other side of Bolin Creek and fell across both the water and part of the paved Bolin Creek Trail.
