Bhubaneswar: As the mass nesting season of olive ridley sea turtles began, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will pause the missile testing at the APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. The State Government has urged the DRDO to pause missile testing off the Odisha coast in February and March, as per reports. The Government has also prohibited the fishermen from fishing in the sea for six months for the nesting season of olive ridley turtles. For this, fishermen will get compensation Rs 15,000 each.
