USMNT VS. GHANA (4-0)

 The U.S. men's national team defeated Ghana, 4-0, on Tuesday night in an international friendly at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

It was the bounce-back performance the team needed after a humbling defeat against Germany on Saturday. The USMNT matched its highest victory margin against an Africa opponent, which was set against South Africa in 2000 at Washington's RFK Stadium.

The USMNT scored three goals in a matter of 12 minutes in the first half. They added a fourth before halftime in a bizarre sequence that resulted in an indirect free kick inside the 18-yard box.

Gio Reyna, who had been at the center of controversy in the aftermath of the 2022 World Cup, scored two of those goals, including the entertaining indirect free kick. Reyna's first game back with the USMNT since the World Cup family feud was Saturday, when he started against Germany.

Reyna opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the game, and Pulisic doubled the lead from the penalty spot on 19 minutes via a spot-kick won by Tim Weah. Balogun crashed home a third minutes later, and Reyna’s second completed the scoreline minutes before halftime as the U.S. ran riot throughout the opening stanza.

Sergino Dest was electric throughout the game, bombing forward as he put his struggles against Germany far in the rear-view mirror. Matt Turner was only called upon once in goal, but he stood tall with a sensational save just moments before the break.

While the USMNT didn't have the pace to keep with Germany and suffered breakdowns in transition which led to goals, it didn't have the same problems Tuesday. The USMNT eased off the attack in the second half, but remained organized on defense and held Ghana to only one shot on goal.
