The talk around the New York Jets in the coming days (and maybe weeks) will mostly revolve around the health of Aaron Rodgers, who suffered an injury almost right from the get-go of Monday night's game against the Buffalo Bills. Rodgers' injury has definitely dampened the spirits of Jets fans, but running back Breece Hall gave his team's supporters something to cheer for when he broke out for a mind-boggling run in the second quarter of the contest.
It was a run to remember for Breece Hall and NY fans, considering the fact that it's the longest ever by a Jets player in nearly three decades, per ESPN Stats & Info.
The Jets don’t have Aaron Rodgers, but they do have Garrett Wilson and the second-year wideout has helped the Jets draw even with the Bills in the fourth quarter.
Wilson fought off tight coverage from Bills safety Micah Hyde to get his right hand on a pass from quarterback Zach Wilson. He was able to keep his hand on the ball while going to the ground in the end zone and held on for a three-yard touchdown catch,
It was an instant highlight-reel grab by Garrett Wilson.
The Jets' young star receiver made a sensational touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter that tied Monday night's game at 13-13 with the Buffalo Bills.
Wilson battled Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White on Zach Wilson's pass to the end zone, ultimately tipping the ball from hand to hand before snagging it and securing the touchdown with 4:55 remaining.
Hall got the start and immediately ripped off a 26-yard run on the Jets' first offensive play, showing that his surgically repaired knee is doing just fine. His next run didn't come until the second quarter, but it went even better, as Hall broke free for an 83-yard gain to flip the field after the Jets started on their own four-yard line. Dalvin Cook led the Jets with 13 rushing attempts but mustered just 33 yards on the ground, as Hall was the far more effective runner. Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) exited on the opening drive and could be out for the season, so the Jets will likely take on a more run-first approach at the expense of goal-line opportunities with Zach Wilson under center, which means both Hall and Cook can be expected to garner double-digit touches against Dallas in Week 2.
