October 15, 2022 (KHARTOUM) – Sudanese police said on Thursday that they are investing circumstances under which a man died in custody in the capital, Khartoum. The police, in a statement released on 14 October, confirmed that Kamal Mudathir died “while in custody” on the same day that he was arrested by the country’s security forces. Security forces arrested Kamal on October 11 and his body was found at a mortuary. The police, in their statement, said that “the necessary legal procedures were taken and the body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary to identify the reason for his death”.
