The National Seismic Network, affiliated with the National Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), recorded an earthquake 292 km north of Rafah, on Sunday. NRIAG said that the tremor came at about 11:2 am, at a depth of 5.3 km with a strength of 4.07 on the Richter scale. The institute added that it had not received any indication of a feeling of tremor or any loss of life and property. The Egyptian National Seismic Network is one of the most modernized earthquake networks in the world, and Egypt is amongst the first countries to have established a seismic network in the MENA.
