Twelve Chicago restaurants made a new list of the top 100 spots to dine in the country.
The list, created by restaurant reservation platform OpenTable, was “generated from over 11 million reviews from verified OpenTable diners and dining metrics,” its introduction states.
Only restaurants in “good standing” with OpenTable and that have a minimum threshold of diner reviews were considered for the list, and they were evaluated on a variety of data points, including diner ratings, percentage of five-star reviews, number of alerts set, percentage of reservations made in advance, percentage of capacity and direct searches, the platform said.
“Diners have no shortage of places they can turn to for dining inspiration, but none quite like our Top 100, which casts a wide net across the country and reflects the restaurants Americans are truly loving,” said Amy Wei, Chief Operating Officer at OpenTable. “Our 2027 Dining Trends Report found 68% of Americans expect to visit restaurants the same or more often – and that many are finding new reasons to dine out – we hope this list inspires every occasion, from holiday celebrations to just because.”
The list includes restaurants in 21 different states, and New York, California and Illinois rank highest in regard to number of restaurants on the list.
