In Karen Kingsbury’s The Christmas Ring, the military is honored in several different ways. Author Karen Kingsbury invited active and retired military to be background actors and stand-ins instead of hiring extras during filming. The production also partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation to get the Foundation’s mission out to a larger audience. The film, which stars Jana Kramer, Ben Hollingsworth, and Kelsey Grammar was a whirlwind production taking only three weeks to film in the town of Franklin, Tennessee.
