Live with Kelly and Mark kicked off Halloween weekend with a surprise appearance from Ryan Seacrest, who revealed the thing he misses the most about hosting the morning talk show. According to Entertainment Weekly, Seacrest, who co-hosted Live alongside Kelly Ripa as Live With Kelly and Ryan from 2017 to 2023, returned to the show in a pre-taped Spider-Man costume segment that kicked off the holiday episode.
“Good morning everybody! It’s me, Ryan Seacrest! Look familiar? Don’t adjust your dials!” The 51-year-old began the segment while playing a version of himself reporting on bizarre occurrences in New York City.
Live with Kelly and Mark co-host Mark Consuelos then appeared in a tight superhero costume similar to Spider-Man’s red and blue suit as Ripa scaled a building in her own heroic outfit.
“This morning, Live is turning Times Square into Times Scare for the very first ‘Halloween Shockin’ Eve,’” Seacrest continued his introduction to the holiday episode.
After Consuelos rescued his wife and took her to the Live set, Seacrest bid his farewell so they could take over the holiday episode.
“Hey guys! Have a great show! And tell Gelman I miss his nuts,” Seacrest said, referring to Live executive producer Michael Gelman.
Ripa and Consuelos were not impressed with Seacrest’s revelation.
“That’s disgusting!”, Consuelos told the former Live host, prompting him to clarify, ““No, the snack! The mixed nuts he used to share with me!”
Ripa and Consuelos still found the comment “disgusting!”
After a quick costume change, Consuelos and Ripa entered the Live studio in outfits inspired by Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny looks during their Super Bowl halftime show performance back in February. The cohosts went on to appear in over 60 costumes throughout the episode.
Seacrest was just one of many celebrities who appeared on this year’s Live With Kelly and Mark Halloween episode, including Juju Green, who’s known as Straw Hat Goofy online, Lisa Rinna, Kal Penn, Alan Cumming, Scrubs stars and real life BBFs Zach Braff and Donald Faison, Jerry O’Connell and Andy Cohen.
