News by : (Parade) -

At this point in time, it would be understandable for a classic rock fan to assume that there are no new photographs to be seen of the era’s most iconic bands, like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, from back in the day.

But over 50 years later, 175 photos of Led Zeppelin from between the years of 1969 to 1975 (half of which have never been seen before) are at last being showcased in a brand-new book published today, Oct. 28, by Schiffer Publishing.

Written by renowned rock photographer Carl Dunn, Led Zeppelin on Tour, 1969–1975: The Carl Dunn Photo Archive is described as a “stunning 288-page large-format photo book capturing Led Zeppelin at their peak.”

“From the Texas Pop Festival of 1969 to the band’s sold-out Texas shows in 1975, Dunn’s photographs chronicle 16 unforgettable performances across Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois, revealing the energy, power, and charisma that defined the world’s greatest rock band,” the description continues.

In addition to “electrifying stage shots,” the book also includes “rare, candid moments — Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham offstage in Dallas, and Jimmy Page performing with Bad Company in Austin.”

In addition to narration from Dunn, Led Zeppelin on Tour, 1969–1975: The Carl Dunn Photo Archive includes contributions from rock music photographers Dave Brolan and Ross Halfin.

“For a band who were notoriously camera shy, Led Zeppelin were also incredibly photogenic performers,” Brolan wrote in his foreword. “Carl captured all the energy, shapes, atmosphere, dynamics, and emotions of the band in action. His photos of them are unique and have a visual impact comparable to listening to Led Zeppelin at full volume.”
