It’s game day, Chicago Bulls fans, and the team is back at the United Center for just its second home game of the season.
Last time out, the Bulls couldn’t get past the Washington Wizards at home. But maybe they’ll have a better shot tonight against the reigning NBA champions, the New York Knicks.
New York has had a slow start to the season and is playing on the second night of a back-to-back, which is about as good an opportunity as Chicago could ask for.
Let’s take a look at what’s in store for tonight.

What To Watch For
A rebuilding Chicago Bulls team that has played four games so far, but hasn’t put together a complete performance from start to finish in any of them. It’s a small sample size and not necessarily indicative of what’s in store for the rest of the season, but a consistent performance from start to finish is exactly what we should be looking for from the Bulls tonight. Chicago just hasn’t been able to hit shots. They’re last in the NBA in field goal percentage and three-point percentage, but first in threes attempted. However, according to those same numbers, the Bulls are taking the best shots in the NBA, leading the league in location eFG% at 56.1%. Tiago Splitter has been getting a bit of the short end of the stick with those shots not falling, but as the season progresses, they should eventually start to drop. And maybe that starts tonight against the Knicks. The Chicago Bulls currently have the #1 shot selection in the NBA… but can't make anything ?– Location eFG%: 56.1% (1st in NBA)– Actual eFG%: 46.7% (29th in NBA)Chicago is shooting 42.0 threes per game at a 23.8% clip through four games pic.twitter.com/orjxiYWrT2
— NBABase (@TheNBABase) October 28, 2026 One positive on this roster has been rookie forward Caleb Wilson, who’s averaging 21 points, seven rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. He’s hot on the trail of Michael Jordan’s rookie tallies and on the long, hard quest to become the team’s and the league’s GOAT. But this season, Caleb Wilson has his eyes set on winning Rookie of the Year. The other rookies in this class are putting up some tough competition, so if Caleb wants to win, it’ll take big averages, wins, or both. And the best part? He knows that. One last thing to look out for is a potential bounce-back performance from forward Matas Buzelis and point guard Josh Giddey, both of whom have started the season rough. Matas is struggling to build on what he showcased last season, feeling like he’s added aggressiveness but lost some of the other good things he was doing. It’s somewhat the same with Giddey, who’s been good at setting up his teammates, but his scoring and rebounding have taken a step back. Now, sure, on this roster, that was somewhat expected, but it’s not like Giddey was a two-way player to begin with. If you slow down his offense, he’s not suddenly going to get better on defense. What’s Wrong with Matas Buzelis? The defending champion New York Knicks haven’t exactly started the season on the right foot either, having gone 0-3 through their first three games. Last night, they picked up their first win of the season against the Detroit Pistons, 111-97, but that also means they’ll be playing Chicago on the second night of a back-to-back. That win could have opened the floodgates, or it could just be a false dawn in their championship hangover. Tonight could be the litmus test.HOME DUB ? pic.twitter.com/tCQk5lP7l6
