ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Around 200 singers, drummers, percussionists, and other performers gathered at the Hochstein School of Music on Tuesday night to rehearse for Friday’s performance of “Adiemus: Songs of Sanctuary.”
The show is inspired by Karl Jenkins’ 1994 song “Adiemus,” an African and Celtic-inspired composition written in an invented language. Performers say the song has captured the imagination of music lovers worldwide for decades because of its uniqueness.
The show will feature the Rochester Oratorio Society Chorus & Orchestra, Nazareth University Percussion Ensemble, Sankofa African Dance & Drum Ensemble, Roberts Wesleyan Chorale, and a children’s choir from Honeoye Falls-Lima schools.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Hochstein Performance Hall on North Plymouth Avenue. You can get tickets here.
