Listeners voted in a poll published Friday (Oct. 23) on Billboard, choosing LISA’s EP as their favorite new music.
The six-song solo collection topped new releases from Hilary Duff, John Mayer, ATEEZ, Miley Cyrus and more based on reader votes, closing down the poll at an overwhelming 87%.
Press Play arrived on Friday (Oct. 23) along with a music video for the track “Tarantino,” following the pre-release single “SaWaDiKa” that dropped last month. LISA has a songwriting credit on all six tracks.
The set’s title comes from a “Tarantino” lyric: “It’s a movie baby, come and press play.”
“Got my nails really long like the barrel of my gun,” she sings on the chorus. “And my lipstick all over your face/ I’m a boss, I’m a don when I’m drivin’ to the sun/ It’s a movie, baby, come and press play/ Tarantino, Tarantino/ Got my feet hangin’ out the Camino/ Tarantino, Tarantino/ Got my feet hangin’ out the Camino.”
The Thai artist has a mini Las Vegas residency coming up, with show dates on Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 27-29.
Trailing behind Press Play on Billboard‘s poll are Hilary Duff’s Holiday Things, John Mayer’s “Tom and Jerry,” ATEEZ’s “Drop” and Miley Cyrus’ “Cold Blooded.”
