Although Ellen DeGeneres‘ talk show has been off the air for several years, she recently said she misses being on TV and may be plotting a return.
While chatting on UK late-night show, The Graham Norton Show, DeGeneres was asked if she misses being on television.
“I miss a lot about it,” she said. “I miss laughing every single day with the writers, and I miss the guests.”
DeGeneres, joined by Colin Farrell, Quentin Tarantino, and Gemma Chan on Norton’s couch for the Oct. 16 episode, also joked that she “missed kissing Colin,” referring to a 2004 episode of her show when the two kissed.
The 68-year-old’s talk show ended in 2022 after 19 seasons following allegations of harassment and mistreatment of her staff, which was a shocking departure from her cheerful on-air attitude and regular reminder to “be kind” in her daily sign-off.
In the time since she’s been off the air, the longtime comedian and her wife, Portia de Rossi have relocated to the UK. The move may have gotten DeGeneres’ wheels spinning as Norton asked about a potential return to TV.
“I think about doing something here. It does seem easy to get on television here,” she joked. “I mean, I just called you up and said, ‘I have nothing to promote. Can I just sit on the couch?'”
“There are shows here that I’m just shocked that someone went and sold it,” she added, nodding to UK shows about sewing and pottery, presumably referring to British programs The Great British Sewing Bee and The Great Pottery Throw Down, respectively.

She then jokingly pitched a show based on her own outdoor hobby.
“I like to mow, and I thought people could mow and see how long you disassociate from your family, because that’s what you’re doing,” she said. “You’re out there just by yourself on the lawn as long as you can be out there.”
“I can call it ‘Lawn & Order,'” she proposed. ? SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox ?
