Taylor Thongintra from Irvine, California has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Northwestern beginning in fall 2027.

Thongintra swims for Aquazot Swim Club and finished his long course season at Summer Juniors. There he was 100th in the 200 breast (2:25.83) and 119th in the 100 breast (1:06.50).
Back in May, he swam to a 14th place finish in the 100 breast with a 55.68 at the CIF State Championship. He began his senior year at Santa Margarita Catholic this fall.
Thongintra’s Best SCY Times Are:
100 breast: 54.72 200 breast: 1:59.96The Northwestern men finished 4th out of nine teams at the 2026 Big Ten Championships. Stuart Seymour led the team with 79 points including a 2nd place finish in the 100 free (41.87).
Based on his best times, Thongintra is not far off what it took to final at Big Tens. It took a 53.58 100 breast and a 1:56.36 200 breast to final. The team only scored 12 points in the 100 breast at Big Tens, their lowest scoring individual event along with the 500 free. Josh Staples led the team this past season with a 51.83 100 breast.
Thongintra will arrive in Evanston next fall as a member of the class of 2031 along with Drew Hilsmier, Kealan Tupper, and Spencer Belbot.
