A second person was arrested for murder in the death of a man who was pushed from a moving CTA Red Line train earlier this month, authorities said.
Katlar Parchman, 19, was charged with first-degree murder, two additional counts of murder, aggravated battery of a transit employee and mob action. Parchman was arrested on Wednesday after detectives identified her as an additional suspect in the deah of a 29-year-old man who was pushed from a moving train Sept. 7 on the city’s South Side. Parchman was scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing on Saturday.
The victim, 29-year-old Kyle Bickham, died after being pushed from a train near the 69th Street Red Line station during an altercation with three people, authorities said. Police said Bickham struck the electrified third rail, became incapacitated and was later hit by a moving train.
Authorities initially thought he had jumped from the moving train, but it was later determined the 29-year-old had been pushed.
A 15-year-old girl, the first person arrested in connection with Bickham’s death, was taken into custody on Sept. 11 for murder, along with several other charges.
Details on what led up to the altercation haven’t been released.
Police haven’t said if they’re actively seeking a third person.
