Delta is going big in Los Angeles next summer. Really big.
The airline just announced its largest-ever schedule at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and for travelers, that means more than simply seeing a few extra Delta planes on the tarmac.
At the peak of summer 2027, Delta and its partners will operate more than 200 departures a day to nearly 70 destinations from LAX. Even better: There are two brand-new nonstop routes in the mix, more frequent flights to seven U.S. cities and some pretty impressive upgrades happening on the ground, too.
So whether you’re trying to escape to Big Sur for the weekend, get to Boston without rearranging your entire day or simply enjoy a glass of Champagne in their swanky lounge before boarding, here’s what you’ll want to know.

Delta Is Adding 2 New Nonstop Routes From LAX
First up: Monterey.
Beginning Dec. 19, 2026, Delta will fly nonstop from LAX to Monterey twice daily aboard an Embraer 175. That puts Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur within much easier reach for Angelenos, minus the roughly five-hour drive from L.A. And with Big Little Lies officially heading back for a third season, consider this one very well-timed way to follow in the footsteps of the Monterey Five.
And golfers may want to take note, too. The route arrives ahead of one of the sport’s biggest championships happening in the region next summer. Delta will also begin a daily nonstop between Salt Lake City and Monterey on Dec. 19.
“We’re continuing to invest in more ways for customers to experience everything California has to offer,” Amy Martin, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning, said of the expansion.
Then, on June 7, 2027, Delta will add a daily nonstop between LAX and Philadelphia, operated on an Airbus A321neo. So cheesesteaks, Rocky steps and one of the country’s best restaurant scenes are about to get another direct connection to Southern California.

More Flights Are Coming to 7 Popular Cities
Anyone who has ever found the perfect flight home only to discover it leaves at 6 a.m. knows that frequency can be just as important as a new destination.
So, Delta is increasing service between LAX and seven existing destinations throughout spring and summer 2027. Boston jumps to five daily flights, San Diego gets five and Seattle will have a whopping eight Delta flights a day at the summer peak. Time to take advantage of those SkyMiles!
Raleigh-Durham and Cincinnati will each increase to twice-daily service, while Houston and San Antonio will each rise to three flights per day.
Altogether, Delta says it will be the only airline at LAX serving all 10 of the airport’s largest markets with multiple daily flights.

The LAX Lounge Situation Is Getting Even Better
Listen up because this may be the part frequent flyers appreciate most.
Delta has already poured $2.3 billion into its Sky Way at LAX, which connected and modernized Terminals 2 and 3. LAX has also become the first airport in Delta’s network with not one, but two Delta One Lounges.
And they’re not done.
An additional 11,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club is scheduled to open in Terminal 2 in 2027. By 2028, Delta expects to have four lounges across Terminals 2 and 3, totaling more than 60,000 square feet and 1,000 seats.
For Delta One passengers, the premium treatment starts before the lounge. LAX offers a dedicated Delta One Check-In area with private TSA security screening, followed by access to the Delta One Lounge.
In other words, the “get to LAX ridiculously early” part of the trip might become considerably more enjoyable.
There Are New Perks Once You’re in the Air, Too
The upgrades don’t stop at the gate.
Delta says it currently offers more premium seats at LAX than any other airline, and its international flights from Los Angeles are operated with Airbus A350-900s featuring 40 Delta One seats. Delta One is also available on select domestic routes from LAX, including flights to Honolulu, Maui, Kona, New York-JFK, Boston and Atlanta.
Starting Oct. 1, Delta One passengers will also find a revamped wine program featuring 13 wines from California and international producers, while Champagne Taittinger is expanding to Domestic Delta One.
Flying Domestic First Class? Select flights feature dishes from chef José Andrés, like Spanish tortilla with pisto Manchego, braised beef short rib with mojo rojo BBQ sauce and creamy polenta, stuffed piquillo peppers with goat cheese and mushrooms and Spanish-style chicken with sherry and dried fruit.
And there’s something for travelers sitting farther back in the plane, too: fast, free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members, with the service expanding to Delta flights from Los Angeles across the Pacific this fall.
Taken together, the new routes, added flights and growing lineup of airport and onboard perks make Delta’s biggest-ever LAX schedule about more than just an impressive number. For travelers, more than 200 daily departures means more choices for where to go, when to fly and how to get there.
