ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It is an important evening for Western New York and the Bills Mafia, but how is our weather shaping up? The stubborn front that has been lingering over the mid-Atlantic will stick around for a bit longer and support a few showers this evening. However, these showers are expected to be widely scattered and relatively light, so no major impacts to the game are expected. It may just be smart to bring your favorite Bills rain gear, poncho, or umbrella. Kickoff should stay mainly dry with an increased chance for a few showers to move through Erie County and Orchard Park closer to halftime. Some showers will likely linger through the end of the game as well. Winds will be negligible, with wind gusts staying under 10 mph through the duration of the game.
Overnight temperatures across the area should reach the upper-50s as widespread cloud cover will move southeast, along with the cold front, and give way to mostly clear skies by the early morning hours of Friday. The “Bus Stop Forecast” calls for dry weather for the morning hours with temperatures around 60 degrees. That dry weather continues through the after-school hours with high temperatures only reaching 69 degrees Friday. A noticeable breeze will also be present throughout the day as winds shift to out of the north with sustained winds between 10 to 15 mph and gusts between 15 and 20 mph.
The weekend is improving with the last handful of data runs. Precipitation is now expected to hold off through Saturday, although, temperatures will stay cool in the mid to upper 60s. Rain chances increase through Saturday night and stick around for Sunday. The second half of the weekend may bring some widespread showers. Current data shows the bulk of precipitation slides through the Southern Tier. However, changes are likely, so we will be sure to keep you up to date on how your Sunday forecast evolves.
