“Is PepsiCo rebranding?” That’s a question we’re sure so many have asked over the last few days (our editors included), and given the food-and-beverage giant’s social media activity over the past week, it’s totally warranted.
So is the idea that, as the parent company of not only Pepsi, but also Brisk iced tea, Cheetos, Doritos, Gatorade, Lipton, Miss Vickie’s, Mountain Dew, Mug Root Beer, Ocean Spray, Quaker Oats, and many more, maybe PepsiCo would want to change its name to honor its family of brands.
But that’s not what’s actually happening.
Is PepsiCo Actually Rebranding and Changing Its Name?
After 61 years as PepsiCo, it’s staying as PepsiCo, regardless of what the other mascots have to say.
View this post on InstagramFollowing a near week-long lineup of social media content pushing for the idea that PepsiCo needs a new name that’s more all-encompassing (since it is the parent company of dozens of equally well-known brands), Parade can confirm that the PepsiCo name isn’t going anywhere.

View this post on InstagramThe online commotion was part of a large-scale bit to make consumers more familiar with PepsiCo’s broad (and ever-growing) array of subsidiaries. Dubbed the “House of Brands” campaign, PepsiCo says it’s the company’s first-ever corporate brand campaign and given the turnout on social media, we feel pretty confident reporting it as a major success.
View this post on Instagram“We are seated,” one Instagram user replied. “We are intrigued.”
“Something is happening…” another added.
“At this point, just call yourselves EverythingCo,” someone else joked.
“Don’t tell me we are changing the whole company name,” a different Instagram user teased. “My new uniforms just got here!!”
One more asked, “Is this for real?”
As you should know by now, no. The rebrand and thoughts about changing the parent company from PepsiCo to something else are nothing more than a dramatic reminder of how many snacks and sips fall under the Pepsi umbrella (knowledge that was apparently only common sense to foodies and those in merchandising before).
PepsiCo said its House of Brands campaign builds on broader efforts to bring its portfolio together, including a refreshed corporate identity and major partnerships. While PepsiCo isn’t changing its name, the campaign reinforces its strength as a company whose story is bigger than any single brand, but “the collective strength of hundreds of brands, together under one roof.”
