Brought to you by Spectrum Aquatics, a SwimSwam partner, our Weekly Wonders of Age Group Swimming series celebrates swimmers of every age and experience level with age group profiles of some recent results.
Bronson Jenner, 12, Phoenix Swim Club (AZ): Jenner kicked off the 2026-27 short course season on a high note at the Phoenix Swim Club September Sizzler last weekend, setting best times in all eight events he raced. His headlining performance came in the 200 fly, where the 12-year-old knocked five seconds off his previous best in 2:05.25. Not only does that rank him atop the early season rankings in 2026-27, but it would’ve cracked the top 10 in the boys’ 11-12 age group last season (would’ve been 9th) and it broke his own Phoenix Swim Club record. Jenner also set best times in the 50 free (25.33), 100 free (53.69), 500 free (5:00.44), 50 back (28.95), 100 back (1:01.09), 50 fly (27.13) and 200 IM (2:10.23), setting a new club record in the 500 free.
Alexa Jenner, 10, Phoenix Swim Club (AZ): The younger sister of Bronson, Alexa Jenner set lifetime bests in all 10 races she took on at the September Sizzler meet, including a very notable performance in the 100 fly. Jenner shattered her previous best time of 1:09.14 in 1:04.80, which would’ve ranked 11th over the course of last season in the girls’ 10 & under age group. She’s also just over a second shy of cracking the top 100 all-time in the 10 & under age group with that swim. She also dropped nearly five seconds in the 200 IM in 2:33.72, and also set best times in the 100, 200 and 500 free, 100 back, 100 breast and 100 IM.
Samuel Nagy, 13, Anthem Arizona Swim Club (AZ): Nagy set five best times at the September Sizzler, including a pair of standout performances in the breaststroke events. The 13-year-old dropped a second and a half in the 200 breast, clocking 2:14.17 to improve on his previous mark of 2:15.67 set in March. The time would’ve ranked 45th over the course of the 2025-26 season among 13-year-old boys. He also dropped more than two-tenths in the 100 breast (1:02.54), took off two seconds in the 100 free (50.19), over four and a half in the 200 free (1:50.90), and 1.40 in the 200 IM (2:01.49).
Abi Cowart, 14, Alamo Heights Aquatic Club (ST): Cowart went four-for-four in best times at the Garrett’s Midnight Madness meet last weekend in San Antonio, posting the fastest time in the girls’ 13-14 age group so far this season across the board. In the 50 free, she broke 24 seconds for the first time, clocking 23.50 to lower her previous best of 24.01. The time also would’ve ranked 25th in the girls’ 13-14 age group across the entirety of the 2025-26 season. Cowart also set new best times in the 100 back (57.20), 50 fly (27.18) and 100 IM (57.30). Her swim in the 100 IM notably knocked nearly four seconds off her previous PB of 1:01.13, set at the same meet one year prior.
