EBiDAN’s “Yes! Tokyo” returns to No. 1 after three weeks to log its second week atop the Billboard Japan Hot 100, on the chart released Sep. 9.
“Yes! Tokyo” is EBiDAN’s 15th-anniversary single which features nine of its acts including Bullet Train, M!LK, and SUPER★DRAGON. Released Aug. 11, the track first topped the Japan Hot 100 on the list released Aug. 19. This week, the song moves 3-1 after topping sales for the second time with 87,129 copies sold. Cumulative sales have now surpassed 1.48 million copies. “Yes! Tokyo” also continues to rule video views and comes in at No. 2 for streaming. A run of television music program appearances, including NHK’s Venue101, helped push the overall point total to approximately 141% of last week’s figure.
Motoki Ohmori’s “Haiiro” rises 12-2. The theme song for Hakucho to Komori — the film adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s novel, starring Hokuto Matsumura and Mio Imada — received a boost from the release of special footage and a music video timed to the film’s nationwide opening on Sep. 4, lifting the track to No. 1 for radio airplay and No. 4 for downloads.
fav me’s “Nyan te Zurui no!” debuts at No. 3 with No. 2 for sales. Last week’s No. 1,=LOVE’s “Koi, Hajimemashita.,” falls to No. 4, and The World Standard (Wasuta) debuts at No. 5 with their new track “Watta Life!”
King & Prince’s “So Honey” enters at No. 6 after the CD dropped Sep. 2. The track hits No. 2 on radio and tops downloads. Sakanaction’s “Kaiju” surges 97-11 on the strength of the newly released CD single “Kaiju / Iranai” — with remixes by Cornelius and Takkyu Ishino (Denki Groove) — posting No. 6 on sales. Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “Brand New” sits at No. 7, continuing to lead streaming, followed by TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s “Setsuna Hanabi” at No. 8, M!LK’s “Sukisugite Metsu!” at No. 9, and Spitz’s “Mishiranu Ito” at No. 10. The chart’s mid-tier remained largely unchanged from last week, making this a notable week for turnover at the top.
The Billboard Japan Hot 100 combines physical and digital sales, audio streams, radio airplay, video views and karaoke data.
