Sunday’s matchup between Nebraska and Missouri at Wrigley Field was canceled due to court conditions, but players tried to help fans go home happy.
The hotly anticipated matchup, which was pitting the No. 1 Nebraska Cornhuskers against the Missouri Tigers at the venerable baseball stadium, got underway on Sunday night but was quickly stopped because of wet floor conditions.
Players, officials, coaches and grounds crew tried their best to dry off the court, even peeling off advertising decals in an effort to make the playing surface dry enough to compete.
Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful, and the game was postponed after more than an hour of delays.
Fortunately for fans, players from both schools weren’t so quick to be disappointed, and they even engaged in some on-court fun, holding impromptu dance-offs to a variety of songs throughout the delay.
The players then wrapped up the evening with a spirited rendition of “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson before Nebraska players addressed the crowd and thanked them for attending the event.
