Popular suburban mall Gurnee Mills is getting a smattering of new retailers this fall — including a beloved toy store, kids entertainment spot and 66,000 square-foot IKEA.
The new stores are all set to open this fall and spring, according to a news release.
Toys ‘R’ Us, which has a made a comeback in malls across the U.S. in recent years, will open in October of 2026 near Entry A, the release said. Also coming to the mall in October will be restaurant Sophia’s Mexican Grill and retailer Archive Room, which offers “deadstock vintage grails to modern luxury essentials.”
Stores Fashion Q and Nali Jewelers will open in September, the release said.
Also opening at the mall this fall will be a 66,000 square-foot “new format” IKEA store, which will showcase more than 5,000 products from the popular Swedish retailer. The store, opening in Parking Lot B next to Hobby Lobby, will be smaller in comparison to other IKEA stores in Illinois, with a 310,000 square-foot store in Bolingbrook, and a 400,000 square-foot store in Schaumburg.
Indoor entertainment center and trampoline park Sky Zone will also open at the mall near Entry J, with target opening timeline of Spring 2027.
