What changed: This is the first edition of our 2026 Yahoo fantasy football mock draft. Trey McBride completed an RB-RB-TE start before Yahoo’s wide receiver depth allowed the roster to recover in the middle rounds.
This Yahoo fantasy football mock draft covers 15 rounds of a 12-team, half-PPR league from the 1.01. I selected Bijan Robinson first overall, doubled up at running back with Jeremiyah Love at the 2.12, and added Trey McBride at the 3.01 before drafting my first wide receiver.

Draft August 10, 2026 League size: 12 teams Scoring: Half PPR Draft position: 1.01 Starting lineup: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1 D/ST, 1 kicker Rounds: 15Half-PPR scoring leaves room for several viable openings. Receptions still matter, but the format does not punish an early running back investment as severely as full PPR. That made it comfortable to take the best values at the first two turns instead of forcing a wide receiver into the build.
Yahoo Fantasy Football Mock Draft Strategy From the 1.01
The advantage of the 1.01 is obvious: the entire player pool is available. The complication is the 22-pick gap before the 2.12, followed by another long wait after the 3.01. Each turn must account for both the current board and the positional tiers that may disappear before the next selection.
Round 1: Bijan Robinson at No. 1 Overall
Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs remain the two clear choices at the top of 2026 drafts. They occupy the first two spots in the latest 4for4 rankings and have the all-purpose workloads to anchor any roster construction.
I selected Robinson here, matching the approach from my Perfect Fantasy Football Draft from the 1.01. The pick supplies an elite running back without dictating what must happen at the next turn.
Rounds 2-3: Jeremiyah Love and Trey McBride
Jeremiyah Love reached the 2.12 as the No. 21 player in the current 4for4 rankings. His Yahoo ADP was 25, making this selection a small platform value and giving the roster two top-13 running backs by positional rank.
Trey McBride followed at the 3.01. McBride is 4for4’s TE1 and carries a Yahoo ADP of 26, so this was the natural point to secure the top option at a thinner position. Passing on wide receiver through three rounds is less intimidating when the board still contains several viable WR2 types and the FLEX can be filled by a third running back.
Rounds 4-7: Rebuild the Wide Receiver Room
Davante Adams and Jameson Williams became the first two receivers at the 4.12/5.01 turn. Adams offers the steadier weekly profile, while Williams supplies the big-play ceiling. Their Yahoo ADPs of 49 and 54 placed both selections directly in their expected range.
Jaylen Warren was the best value of this stretch at the 6.12. He is ranked 54th overall at 4for4 but lasted until pick No. 72, an 18-pick discount. Brian Thomas Jr. at the 7.01 then supplied a third receiver before the draft moved into its more volatile middle tiers.
Rounds 8-10: Wait for a Starting Quarterback
Brock Purdy was the 12th quarterback selected, landing at the 8.12 after Dak Prescott went at the 7.12. Purdy is also QB12 in the current 4for4 rankings, so the room allowed the position to settle almost exactly in projected order.
Jayden Reed and Stefon Diggs followed in Rounds 9 and 10. At that point, every required starting position was covered and the remaining rounds could be devoted to running back and wide receiver depth.
Rounds 11-15: Use the Bench on RB and WR
Chris Rodriguez, Tyjae Spears, and Khalil Shakir filled the final skill-position spots. Rodriguez and Spears provide two more running back outcomes to monitor, while Shakir gives the roster a sixth receiver and another option for the weekly FLEX.
The Minnesota Vikings D/ST and Harrison Mevis were reserved for the final two rounds. In a typical one-quarterback league, those selections should rarely come at the expense of a potentially useful running back or wide receiver.

Trey McBride Made the Unusual Opening Work
An RB-RB-TE start can look uncomfortable because it leaves both required wide receiver spots empty. The construction becomes more reasonable when the tight end is McBride, the top-ranked player at his position, and the draft room supplies two starting receivers at the next turn.
McBride also removes the need to chase the position later. George Kittle lasted until Round 9, but most of the other tight ends selected after McBride carried either a lower weekly ceiling or more role uncertainty. Jaylen Warren Was the Clearest Rankings Value
Warren’s selection at No. 72 nearly matched his Yahoo ADP of 73, but 4for4 ranks him 54th overall. That 18-pick gap made him an easy selection as the roster’s RB3 and likely FLEX.
This is where comparing platform ADP to projection-based rankings becomes useful. Yahoo ADP helps forecast when a player may be available; the rankings help decide whether that price should be accepted. The two numbers do not need to agree.
Waiting Until Round 4 at Wide Receiver Was Survivable
Davante Adams, Jameson Williams, Brian Thomas Jr., Jayden Reed, Stefon Diggs, and Khalil Shakir formed a six-player receiver room despite the position being ignored through three rounds. The group does not have the same top-end projection as a receiver selected in Round 1, but it offers multiple weekly combinations and enough depth to absorb one miss.
The important distinction is that this was not a plan to ignore wide receiver. It was a reaction to Love and McBride being the best values at the first turn. If the next draft removes Adams and Williams before picks 48 and 49, the construction should change with it.
One Quarterback and One Tight End Preserve Bench Upside
Purdy and McBride are intended to start every week, allowing the completed roster to carry five running backs and six receivers. Those are the positions most likely to gain meaningful value through injuries, role changes, or an unexpectedly large target share.
A second quarterback or tight end can always be added during the season. In a shallow one-quarterback league, using draft capital on that insurance is less appealing than taking another swing at a running back or wide receiver.
