Twain’s new album, Little Miss Twain, debuts at No. 131 on the latest Billboard 200, giving the country-pop superstar a new chart entry in 2026. The album has also made an impact in her native Canada, where it opens at No. 20 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart.

Little Miss Twain, released July 24, takes Twain back to the years before she became an international star. The album looks at her childhood in Timmins, Ontario, her early days as a young performer and the musical influences that helped shape her career.

Twain told Billboard Canada that much of the album deals with subjects she would not normally write about as a commercial songwriter. “Everyone knows the international recording artist Shania Twain, but who was I before that?”

The No. 131 Billboard 200 debut adds another chart chapter to Twain’s long career.

Her first No. 1 came with Up!, which debuted in December 2002 and spent 15 weeks at its peak position. The album remained on the Billboard 200 for 93 weeks.

Her 1995 album The Woman in Me reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 107 weeks. Her 1997 blockbuster Come On Over peaked at No. 2 and spent 151 weeks on the chart. Greatest Hits also reached No. 2.

Now, nearly a decade after Now and 24 years after Up!, Little Miss Twain gives the singer another Billboard 200 entry.

Little Miss Twain is Twain’s seventh studio album and centers on her life before she became one of country music’s biggest stars.

Little Miss Twain includes collaborations with Tanya Tucker, Josh Homme, The War and Treaty, Ronnie Wood and T Bone Burnett, among others.

The album also includes “Northern Town,” which draws from everyday memories of Twain's childhood, and “Stranger Things,” a song built around the sound of a chugging train.

The new release also comes after another major period in Twain's career. She toured behind Queen of Me, completed a Las Vegas residency and performed major shows in the United States, Canada and Europe.

With Little Miss Twain, Twain is not simply revisiting her biggest hits. She is looking further back, toward the young singer who existed before the fame.
