Fans first met McCormick as a child actress in the early 1970s when she appeared in commercials for the Chatty Cathy doll at age six. Acting roles came quickly, with the child star logging guest parts on Bewitched, My Three Sons and I Dream of Jeannie before scoring the life-changing role as the eldest Brady sister in 1969. She remained on The Brady Bunch for five seasons, until 1974, playing the admired and popular "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia," and becoming a real-life teen idol.
McCormick’s Brady co-star Barry Williamsonce said, “I mean, Marcia was the hottest girl on television at the time and cute as could be.”

Just after she turned 60, McCormick appeared on The Doctors and shared that she felt “lucky to be alive.”
McCormick also said if she could talk to her younger self, she would tell her, “You made it. …You'll make it, you'll make it, you'll get through!”
At 70 years old, McCormick appears to be ageless. She publicly lost 34 pounds while on the VH1 reality show Celebrity Fit Club and later shared a tip with fans.
“You have to really put your mind to it and your body to it," she said in 2008, per Pop Entertainment. “You can’t really do it without exercise. You can cut down on eating, but you’ve really got to do both. When I don’t do one or the other, I gain weight. It’s a cycle.”

“It’s the greatest thing,” she said. "I love taking off my makeup with makeup wipes, and I like to hydrate with Neutrogena. I wash my face, then I put on cream, and I love putting on lavender lotion before I go to bed—the lavender makes me feel really relaxed and very soothed.”
"It’s a really nice thing to be remembered for being on a show that America loves,” she told Pop Entertainment. “I’ve learned to have just a great attitude in life and with people. It sure beats the other way.”
