2026 USA Swimming Futures — Austin
July 29-August 1, 2026 Austin, Texas — Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center LCM (50 Meters) Meet Central Live Results; Also available on Meet Mobile “2026 TYR Futures Championships Austin” Day 1 RecapNight two of the 2026 USA Swimming Futures Championships in Austin saw USC commit Ella Gaca Thiele from the Fort Collins Area Swim Team take home two individual event titles, both in personal best times.
She started the session with a win in the women’s 100 freestyle, stopping the clock in 56.02 to take three tenths off her lifetime best 56.32 from last July.
She finished four tenths ahead of Eleanor Geraghty‘s 56.47 for the Rogue Rapids in Oregon. Geraghty’s swim was a second and a half drop from the 57.93 she set in June and two seconds faster than her pre-season best of 58.48. She is committed to Notre Dame for the class of 2027.
Thiele went on to also win the final individual event of the session, the women’s 50 butterfly. She swam 27.05 to finish a little more than a tenth ahead of the 2nd place finisher, Geraghty again.
Thiele dropped three tenths from the 27.38 she set last August while Geraghty’s final time of 27.16 was a two-tenth drop from the 27.35 she swam in May.
There were a few other strong swims throughout the session as well. Bolles School 18-year-old Lucas Young set a personal best 4:29.32 to win the 400 IM final by less than two tenths over Remi Angerer from Auburn Aquatics.
Young’s pre-meet best stood at 4:34.42 from May, but he came into the season with a lifetime best of 4:40.01 from the World Championships last summer where he finished 34th overall. He is committed to Michigan for the fall.
Angerer’s swim was also a lifetime best, taking four seconds off the 4:33.62 he set in April of 2025. He is a member of the high school class of 2028.
Aquazot 14-year-old Summer Shaves won the girls’ 400 IM in 4:54.94, finishing two seconds ahead of teammate Haylee Pramono‘s 4:56.87 in 2nd. Shaves took almost two seconds off her best time of 4:56.65 from June. She has dropped more than eight seconds this season from the 5:03.11 she swam at last year’s Futures Championships.
Other Event Winners
Boys 100 Free: Tyler Grafmiller (BTA), 50.94 — Rising UGA sophomore Tyler Grafmiller won the boys’ 100 freestyle in 50.94, taking four tenths off the 51.32 he swam earlier this month, though he was three hundredths of his prelims time of 50.91. He finished just over a tenth ahead of Badger Swim Club 26-year-old Christian Sztolcman‘s 51.06.
Girls 100 Back: Alexia Duncan (JCCW), 1:02.67 — University of Houston’s Alexia Duncan is building off a very strong NCAA season and Big 12 title in the 100 backstroke. She had a massive drop to win the event on night two, stopping the clock in 1:02.67, more than a second off the 1:03.89 mark she set earlier this month and more than two seconds faster than her pre-season best of 1:04.82. She finished about seven tenths ahead of 14-year-old Dhriti Upadhyaya (KATY) and 16-year-old Carly Afanasewicz (PAC) who tied for 2nd at 1:03.25.
Boys 100 Back: John Simmons (BTA), 55.73 — Simmons, who just wrapped up his freshman year at Texas A&M swam 55.73 to win the 100 backstroke final by more than a second over SwimAtlanta 19-year-old Alex Fusti-Molnar. He took a second off the 56.76 mark he set in June and a second and a half off the pre-season best of 57.39 he set back in 2024.
Boys 50 Fly: Kent Olsen-Stavrakas (TOPS), 24.32 — Kent Olsen-Stavrakas, a 35-year-old out of the University of Denver Hilltoppers, won the 50 fly final by exactly two tenths. He stopped the clock in 24.32 to beat Brett Bailey‘s 24.52 for Southern Tide. Olsen-Stavrakas has a lifetime best of 23.98 from March of 2022
Girls 800 Free Relay: Dynamo Swim Club, 8:31.40 — The Dynamo Swim Club team of Decker Stedman (2:08.51), Evelyn Entrekin (2:04.61), Kinley McCalla (2:12.18), and Lila Botham (2:06.10) stopped the clock in 8:31.40, finishing just over three tenths ahead of the Alto Swim Club ‘A’ team’s time of 8:31.67.
Boys 800 Free Relay: Dynamo Swim Club, 7:36.36 — Dynamo Swim Club team of Cooper McDonald (1:51.18), Ian Combs (1:55.46), Alex Lou (1:55.91), and Logan Calhoun (1:53.81) swam 7:36.36 to finish more than three seconds ahead of the Bolles School Sharks, who swam 7:39.90 for 2nd.
