It doesn’t mean they want to see anyone in particular squeezed out – that’s just the roster math – but they do want any and all opportunities to win games while they are playing.
In that way, the front office can “reward” great performances in the first four months of the season by showing the team some confidence in the form of an acquisition trade or three. That, in turn, can help bolster the vibes more than any discontinuity dings the vibes.
