ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The heat and storms are behind us, so we’re back to “green” on the First Alert Threat Tracker, which means our weather is much quieter to end the July 4th weekend. It won’t be a beautiful day, but it will be just fine for most outdoor activities. Clouds will stick around with some limited breaks of sun after morning fog. Most of the area is dry, with a few showers sneaking in through the southern Finger Lakes and Southern Tier this afternoon. Temperatures will hold in the mid to upper 70s with the air still feeling quite muggy.
A cold front lurking to our south will lift back north slightly on Monday. This will once again increase our chances of showers and some rumbles of thunder. This will be moving in from south to north during the day, with the most widespread rain moving in during the afternoon hours. With the clouds and showers, temperatures will hold in the mid to upper 70s.
We’ll keep temperatures in the 70s on Tuesday, but we’ll start to see more sunshine making a return. A warming trend will make a return by Wednesday, with highs back into the 80s. We’ll see a few very nice days mid-week, with some rain and storms returning again by late Thursday and especially Friday.
