For several years, there have been no Fourth of July fireworks at Navy Pier, but with the holiday falling on a Saturday in 2026, the venue is going big with its celebration.
The popular venue announced earlier this summer that it will pull out all the stops for its bi-weekly summer fireworks show, which happens to fall on the Fourth of July this year.
To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, Navy Pier will host its “largest and longest” fireworks display ever, according to officials.
Attendees can expect an extended 15-minute performance starting at 10 p.m., set to a patriotic soundtrack against the Chicago skyline.
According to Navy Pier’s website announcement, those present will “experience the energy, the pride and the tradition of Independence Day” through the massive display.
It’s important to note that storms are forecast in the Chicago area Saturday, however early predictions indicated they may be out of the region before late-evening displays.
While storms did force the cancellation of other events at the popular tourist destination, the venue did posted earlier Saturday an indication that the show remained scheduled.
