Burlingame Aquatics’ Catherine Kwong has committed to further her academic and athletic career at Case Western Reserve University beginning in the fall of 2026.
Kwong hails from San Bruno, Calif., and represents Burlingame High School. In February, she competed at the Juanita Allington Memorial Meet, where she swam to several career best times, including the 50 free (25.77), 200 free (2:00.61), 50 fly (26.62), 100 fly (58.54), 200 fly (2:15.56), and 100 back (1:00.84).
Just a week later, Kwong raced at the Speedo Sectionals in Oceanside, where she continued her hot streak, swimming best times in the 100 free (55.02), 50 back (28.62), and the 200 IM (2:20.70).

50 Free: 25.77 100 Free: 55.02 200 Free: 2:00.61 100 Fly: 58.54 200 Fly: 2:15.56 100 Back: 1:00.84Case Western is a Division III University that competes in the University Athletic Association, where the Case Western women finished 6th at the UAA Championships this past season.
Based on Kwong’s best times, she would have finished 23rd in the 100 fly, 31st in the 200 free, 45th in the 100 free.
Kwong predicts as an immediate points scorer as a freshman, and with college training and all of her best times already coming in the 2026 calendar year, she seems to be on the proper trajectory to make a sizeable impact on the Case Western team.
Kwong joins Olivia Vandewinckel in Case Western’s 2026 recruiting class.
