Rays vs Brewers — The Brewers won Game 1 of the World Series last night, but it was a tight one. Hard to blame the Rays, though. It’ll just never be easy to score against Milwaukee’s A-lineup of pitchers, when they’re all available and fresh: Jacob Misiorowski, to Abner Uribe, to Aaron Ashby, to Trevor Megill.
Ashby’s 97.3 mph average fastball velo is the SLOWEST of that group. Yeesh. And with so much rest for the Brewers this postseason plus the built-in off-days of the World Series itself, those arms can probably throw in most of these games. That being said, I think the starting matchup tonight between Drew Rasmussen and Logan Henderson (another banger) favors Tampa Bay slightly.

Drew Rasmussen had a brilliant regular season for the Rays this year, earning a 2.67 ERA with matching peripherals across 30 starts (172.0 IP). He’s also got a 1.29 ERA across three starts and 21.0 IP this postseason, so he remains locked all the way in.
Rasmussen faced the Brewers once this year, all the way back on April 1: 5.0 IP, 3H, 1ER, 1BB, 8K.
Milwaukee Brewers: Logan Henderson, RHP
Logan Henderson burst onto the scene this year (his second in the bigs), making 18 starts with a 2.47 ERA. He strikes out a TON of guys, he walks very few, and the contact against him is frequently quite weak. His only weakness, if you can call it one, is that he’s a fly ball pitcher. But when you execute as well as he does, that’s not really a problem.
Henderson has not faced the Rays yet this season.
