The announcement was shared by the band on Instagram on Sunday, just days before several scheduled performances in Canada and the United States.
The news arrives as L7 prepares for a busy touring schedule that includes summer festival appearances and the launch of their farewell run, The Last Hurrah Tour, later this year.

View this post on InstagramFinch has been one of the most recognizable members of L7 throughout the band's history. She first joined the Los Angeles-based group in 1986 and played a key role during the band's rise in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
She departed the band in 1996 before returning when L7 reunited in 2014. Since then, Finch has remained part of the band's core lineup alongside Donita Sparks, Suzi Gardner and Dee Plakas.
The health update comes only weeks after L7 revealed plans for The Last Hurrah Tour, the first leg of what the group describes as its final world tour.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, L7 became one of the most influential rock bands of the 1990s. The group earned widespread recognition through albums such as Bricks Are Heavy and songs including “Pretend We’re Dead” and “Andres.”
While Finch's absence from the summer shows marks a temporary change in the lineup, L7 remains optimistic about her recovery.
