2026 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association 5A Swimming Championships
May 14-16, 2026 Las Vegas, NV SCY (25 yards) ResultsIt was a sweet dozen for the Palo Verde boys and a high five for the Coronado girls at the Nevada 5A State Swimming and Diving Championships.
Palo Verde claimed its 12th straight title, finishing 20 points ahead of runner-up Bishop Gorman. The Coronado girls’ team cruised to a fifth straight crown, finishing 42 points better than runner-up Reno.

Coronado was led by seniors Grace Carrington and Ana Schulz, who each won an individual event and were a part of two winning relay teams.
Carrington, a Washington State commit, won the 50 free in a time of 24.46. She set her personal best time of 23.89 earlier this month at the NIAA Class 5 Southern Regin Championships.
Schultz, who has committed to Nevada, claimed the 100 free in a time of 51.84. Her lifetime best stands at 51.06, set in April 2024.
In the 200 medley relay, Schulz led off in a 50 back best time of 26.94, and Carrington split 29.34 on the breast leg to help Coronado win in a time of 1:46.80. Other team members were Maggie Setzler on fly (26.27) and Liana Carrington on free (24.25).
In the 400 free relay, Coronado won in a time of 3:33.78 behind the quartet of Ava Estrada (54.42), L. Carrington (54.03), G. Carrington (52.81) and Schulz (52.52).
Bishop Gorman won the 200 free relay in 1:41.14 behind the team of Milania Gaddis (25.35), Jaylah Threadgill (26.04), Juli Herra (1:41.14) and Kenzie Hovanec (24.63).
The individual standout was Reno senior Addison Sala, an Alabama commit.
Sala won the 200 IM in a time of 2:03.27 and the 100 back in a time of 56.06. She owns respective best times of 2:00.36 and 55.21.
Other individual winners were:
Marni Kraemer, a junior at Galena who has committed to Minnesota, won the 200 free in a time of 1:51.75. Centennial senior Bella Benes won the 1-meter diving event with 393.70 points. Hannah Ingram, a sophomore at Carson, captured the 100 fly in 56.49. Faith Lutheran junior Makenna Sherman, a Utah commit, claimed the 500 free in a time of 5:01.77. It was a record-setting performance by Palo Verde senior Owen Robertson, a BYU commit, who set a state record in the 100 free with a time of 45.10. He broke the old record of 45.22 set in 2021 by Luke Hobson of Reno. Robertson also captured the 200 IM in a time of 1:50.84.
Robertson finished off the meet with an anchor leg of 45.08 to help Palo Verde win the 400 free relay in a time of 3:14.41. Other team members were Jace Gallagher-Spence (49.63), Roland Avra (50.51) and Joshua Evans (49.19).
The other individual standout was Centennial freshman Sullivan Benes, who demonstrated his freestyle versatility by winning the 100 free in a time of 1:40.67 and the 500 free in 4:36.24.
Benes also had a 21.99 anchor split to help Centennial win the 200 free relay in a time of 1:30.88. Other team members were Aidan Woods (23.06), Cash Irvine (23.73) and Nick Dawidian (22.10).
Other event winners were:
Bishop Gorman claimed the 200 medley relay in 1:39.46 behind the team of Bryant Chung (24.57), Luka Nguyen (28.16), Teddy Zachariou (24.67) and Cian Dunagan (22.06). Carter Renwick, a junior at Reed, captured the 50 free in a time of 21.71. Douglas freshman Preston Hinkle was the champion in 1-meter diving, topping the field with a score of 292.65. Dawidian, a sophomore for Centennial, claimed the 100 fly in 53.09. Chung won the 100 back, finishing with a personal best time of 53.13.
