Mijatovic just aged up as he turned 17 last month.

That swim made him the #7 performer all-time in the 15-16 age group. He notably holds the 15-16 national age group (NAG) records in the 200, 400, and 800 long course meter freestyles. He will search for his first 17-18 NAG record now that he has aged up.
Since 2024 Junior Pan Pacs, Mijatovic has only swam the 1500 free three times. He swam a 15:16.31 in March 2025 at the Pro Series stop in Westmont and swam a 15:17.02 a month ago. He did not race the event at 2025 US Summer Nationals but his time tonight would have been 3rd only behind Bobby Finke who won in a 14:48.65 and David Johnston who was 2nd in a 14:57.83.
With his swim tonight, Mijatovic also becomes the fastest American so far this year as well as #17 in the world. Finke now sits as the #2 American this season with a 15:01.70 from January’s Pro Series stop in Austin.
