Kentucky first-year head coach Will Stein now has a 4-star wide receiver in his possession for the 2027 season as he tries to turn around the football fortunes in Lexington.
Virginia product Iveon Lewis announced his commitment to Kentucky for next season on Saturday afternoon, giving the offensive guru Stein a big boost in Year 2 before he even begins Year 1 of his rebuilding process. Lewis currently stars at Huguenot High School in Richmond, Va., and believed Kentucky “checked all the boxes” enough for him to leave his home state and head to the SEC for the 2027 season.
Not only did Kentucky get Lewis to leave Virginia, it kept him away from a few SEC rivals. Conference powers like Georgia, as well as Tennessee and Oklahoma offered Lewis scholarships, but it will be Stein, the offensive mastermind at Oregon for the past 3 seasons, who will get his hands on the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder next fall.
Reigning national champion Indiana and fellow Big Ten power Ohio State were also in the mix for Lewis, so this was a very notable victory for Stein as he tries to load up on offensive weaponry in Lexington.

— ChadSimmons (@ChadSimmons_) May 9, 2026Kentucky made its first offer to Lewis in February, and 3 months later that recruiting process turned into a commitment. The Wildcats also lured Lewis away from the clutches of Virginia Tech, which was trying to keep Lewis in his home state.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Lewis is currently the 334th-best prospect from the Class of 2027. He’s also the 43rd-best wide receiver in the class right now and the 6th-best player from the state of Virginia.
Lewis’ commitment gives Kentucky 14 commits in what is shaping up to be a strong 2027 recruiting class. Right now, Stein’s 2027 class is ranked 10th in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Kentucky will look forward to Lewis coming to Lexington in 2027, but in the meantime there’s a new regime starting at UK in 2026 and the Wildcats will be trying to make some noise in the SEC.
