Maluma Unveils Yeison Jiménez Collab, Recorded One Month Before Música Popular Star’s Death
Following his appearance at the 2026 Met Gala, the Colombian artist (born Juan Luis Londoño Arias) visited The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday (May 5) for an intimate conversation on new music, fatherhood and mental health.
“I’ve been touring for 14 years nonstop and I decided to stop and pay attention to my health … that’s when [daughter] Paris was born,” Maluma shared on the talk show. “At the end of 2024, I started feeling panic attacks that I’ve never had before. That actually changed my life. I started doing a lot of therapy, and my healing was in my music.”
That music will soon see the light with the release of his seventh studio album, Loco x Volver, dropping May 15.
Loosely translated to “dying to return,” the album — which includes the previously released tracks “1+1” with Kany García, “Botero” with Arcángel and NTG, “Con el Corazón” with the late Regional Colombian singer Yeison Jimenez and the Ryan Castro-assisted “Pa’ La Seca” — will be “in honor of my grandparents, my culture, my city, my music from Colombia,” he shared.
“This whole project is the deepest part of my soul and my heart,” he told Hudson. “I’ve never experienced this before. I feel pretty good now, I don’t have any panic attacks anymore, and I feel excited about this project. People are going to know Juan Luis, who’s this guy from Medellin, it’s a good season for me. I’m enjoying it for sure.”
