Holloway was listed as ‘out’ on Alabama’s NCAA-mandated availability report on Thursday night. Alabama is required to submit a final report 2 hours before its game against Michigan.
On Thursday, Alabama’s Houston Mallette spoke about preparing for the Sweet 16 matchup against Michigan without Holloway.
“Guys have stepped up in his absence, like Taylor Bol Bowen is playing some of his best basketball,” Mallette said. “Jalil, the way he’s been practicing, you guys will see, he’s been really good. Noah Williamson, he’s having a phenomenal tournament. Guys have stepped up left and right.
“Like I said, that’s our brother. But we’re ready to play. We’re ready to prepare, and we love each other.”
Alabama and Michigan will tip off at 7:35 p.m. ET on Friday night.
