Kentucky is very much immersed in this season, with the Wildcats earning a first-round victory over LSU on Wednesday afternoon at the SEC Tournament in Nashville.
But next season is right around the corner, and Kentucky is already immersed in that, too. The Wildcats appear to be close to adding an important name to their basketball front office, with Keegan Brown being targeted to join Kentucky’s staff in that role, according to a report by On3 on Wednesday afternoon.
The On3 report said a deal between the school and Brown is “expected to come together in the near future.” Brown isn’t connected to Kentucky, not yet at least, but he’s well-connected to Wildcats head coach Mark Pope, who had Brown on his staff at BYU. Pope was the head coach at BYU from 2019-24 before coming back to his alma mater to be the head coach for the 2024-25 season.
Brown would be coming to Lexington after serving most recently as the head video coordinator for the Wisconsin Herd, who are the G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks.

— Joe Tipton (@JoeTipton) March 11, 2026Pope had Brown on his staff at BYU for 5 seasons. During that time, Brown served in many roles for the Cougars, including video coordinator, director of video and strategy, and director of player personnel. Brown was a jack of all trades, overseeing video, analytics, in-game strategy, NIL cap management and transfer portal dealings.
Now, it appears that Pope and Brown are close to being reunited in the SEC.
